Hello and welcome to my website.

My name is Anita Langham and I am a professional freelance translator who translates a wide range of media and texts from German to English and Spanish to English. I have a BA Honours degree in German and Spanish, and in May 2022 passed the Chartered Institute of Linguists’ Diploma in Translation exam in German to English.

After more than twenty years’ professional experience in tourism, art, librarianship and business, I returned to translation in 2018 as a full-time freelance translator. It may sound clichéd, but I love to translate and the challenge of perfectly conveying the author’s meaning makes every project interesting and rewarding.

I specialise in the areas in which I have worked, which ensures that my translations are grounded in direct experience and expertise. A particular strength is marketing translations – knowledge of marketing terms, SEO and engaging language all ensure that the client’s website, brochure or Powerpoint presentation will impress their target audience. As well as tourism and marketing translations, I also translate books and articles – fiction and non-fiction, general and specialised. Recent translations include two travel books for an international publisher, and language editing for a further two travel books.
